Postgraduate Programmes

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers programs leading to the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Production Engineering and Management, Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Thermofluids, and Doctor of Philosphy (Ph.D.). The Ph.D. degree is offered in any of the Department’s expertise areas.

The Department conducts postgraduate research in various areas of interest including biomass energy, bio diesel, climate change, renewable energies, CAD/CAM, combustion, composites, computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, manufacturing, metal forming, metal casting, and machine design. The postgraduate programs aim at training engineers with advanced and in depth knowledge in specialised fields. These engineers are needed for creation, use and dissemination of sound technologies, which will be appropriate to local and regional needs and involve utilisation of indigenous resources.
