TAUGHT POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2016/2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Our postgraduate programmes are designed to build the intellectual and technical capacity of graduates so they can critically engage in and find creative solutions for the challenges of transformation at all levels of social and public life in Zambia. The conceptual and practical training is designed to prepare students for leadership in research, policy and decision-making and equip them for a wide range of professional and academic career paths in and beyond Zambia.

The School of Engineering offers two types of Postgraduate programmes namely the Regular programmes and the evening programmes

The Regular programmes will be offered during the day following the regular timetables from 08:00Hrs to 17:00Hrs

The Evening programmes will be offered in the evenings between 17:30Hrs to 20:30Hrs

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The applicants for the taught programmes must possess:

Graduates of the University of Zambia who have been admitted to the appropriate Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with at least a Credit; or

Graduates of other recognized universities who have been admitted to the appropriate Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with at least a Lower second class honors; or


In exceptional circumstances, graduates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with a pass or its equivalent, and have a minimum of two year acceptable professional experience at an appropriate level or other qualifications relevant to the pursuit of graduate studies may be accepted for admission

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Part I:Taught courses for one academic year

Part II: Research component for one academic year

METHOD OF APPLYING

Application forms can be obtained from the University of Zambia Website www.unza.zm or Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a payment of a non- refundable application fee of K150.00 for Zambians and US$60.00 for non-Zambians.
